WELCOME TO METRA ECONOMIC CONSULTING LTD

Metra Economic Consulting Ltd inherits a tradition of advice to governments and businesses dating back to 1967.

Metra Consulting Group was set up in 1967 as part of an international network within the French Sema Group. It offered two main types of consultancy service, (1) Industrial Market Research and Business Consultancy; (2) Operational and Strategic Planning.

In 1992, after a restructuring of the French parent group, the market research, planning and consultancy activities were separately floated under the already well-known name of Sofres; thus the Metra company became Metra Sofres.

In 2002 the Taylor Nelson Sofres Group decided to withdraw from management consulting activities and concentrate on consumer research for strategic reasons. Metra Economic Consulting was created through a management buy-out from Taylor Nelson Sofres.

Metra has a small in-house professional staff of experienced consultant economists, technologists and business advisers, as well as more than 200 specialised associate consultants offering expertise in a wide variety of sectors and disciplines.

Metra’s services still remain broadly the same:

Economic Development Consultancy, usually in emerging markets for international agencies such as the European Commission, World Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat.

and:

Industrial market research and marketing consultancy.

Clients include major international agencies and private sector businesses of all sizes.
